My latest photography projects

Birthday Boy Bash Part 2

Happy Chinese New Year everyone!  (Especially those who may currently be enjoying a China experience.)  I just couldn’t resist posting a few more pics of Jacob.  He had such a fantastic time playing with the streamers.  There is nothing more magical than the pure joy of a child or even the young at heart!

Yesterday I had the first photo shoot at my house instead of taking my show on the road.  Jacob is turning three in a couple of weeks, and his mom and dad wanted pictures of him to use for his birthday party.  He is such an active little boy, and he had a fantastic time playing with the balloons.  Happy birthday Jacob!

Hello everyone, I hope you had a very Happy New Year’s!  I love this time of year.  The feeling of a fresh start, new opportunities and the possibility of change fills me with hope.  It’s a time to clean things up, make new decisions and do things differently or better than you did in the past.

So in the spirit of the new year, I am posting a gift from me to you.  These are some of my nature or macro shots with different Bible verses that make excellent desktop backgrounds for your computer.  Hopefully this should work for most screen sizes.

To turn this into a background…

1. Click on the picture so you view the entire large image (do not right click on the small image or your background will look “pixel-y”)

2. Then right click on the image and chose Set as Desktop Background

3. You can either choose to stretch the picture to fit , use tiles, or use the original size and have a color around the picture

I typically like stretching the photo, but that is because I like to have my background fit the whole screen.

So, here’s to a fantastic and blessed 2012!  Happy New Year everyone!

Suzanna’s First Christmas

Our friends, Nick and Kym, had a little girl earlier this year.  Kym asked me to come over and take some pictures of Suzanna in her adorable Christmas dress with her big brother Jacob and get some additional 3 month old shots as well.  Here are a handful of my favorites from our photo shoot last week.

Jacob lasted about 5 minutes taking pictures, because he was distracted with his toys and the presents under the tree, but Suzanna was a trooper!

Eastside Christmas

Andrea and Eric asked me to meet them in Rice Park last Sunday to take some shots for their Christmas card.  We met at Rice Park in St Paul as that place has special meaning for them.  It was such a warm day that we were able to take some pictures without coats and were able to linger outside a little longer than we normally could at this time of the year.

Danielle and Johnny are such characters and pretty entertaining during our shoot.  They always make it fun to be around them!

Here are a few pics from my photo shoot with them.  Now that the photo cards are in the mail, I will not ruin the surprise by putting the picture they chose on my post.  However, these are some of my other favorites.

Precious Little Ella

My friends, Kristin and Chip, got the best Black Friday deal ever…their adorable little girl, Ella, was born a couple of weeks early.  Everyone is healthy and doing well.  Based on how our shoot went, I can already see that Ella is going to have her dad’s appetite!

The Adorable Miss G

Here are a handful of pictures I took last weekend of the most adorable Gianna.  Although she is only two, I am constantly amazed by how well she speaks and how extensive her vocabulary is.  She was so cute and was a trooper after lunch but before her nap!

Butler versus Maid

As mentioned earlier, I do some still photography for Above-the-Line Entertainment.  Their latest production, The Butler Did It, was nominated for six different awards and won for Best Writing at the ProjectTwenty1 Film Festival.  As always I had such a great experience observing and documenting the film making process.

An “extra” special treat was that my husband, Adam, was one of the extras in this film! He is credited as “Butler with a Tryst”.  (He’s proud and self-proclaimed famous.)

Having Adam there made the overnight shoot definitely more fun.  We never really intended to stay up the whole night when we got their for Adam’s 7pm call, but as the scenes unfolded we ended up leaving the shoot at 6:45am!  It has been a long time since I pulled an all-nighter, and I have to admit I took a short nap in one of the parlor rooms.

Other than the company, one of the coolest things about this shoot was the location.  We shot all night at the LeDuc Mansion in Hastings.  I have always wanted to check out the mansion, and there couldn’t have been a better way to do it.  I was so excited to get some shots of the mansion at night and show the crew working inside.  I spent a good amount of time outside getting bug bites all over my ankles while trying to get just the right shot.

Now that the film has debuted, here are some of my favorite shots from this film.  Thank you Justin and Kristin for the honor of being a part of the process, and congrats on your award!

For those of you who may not know, my brother and his fiancee are getting married in China on Wednesday where they are teaching English and spreading the Gospel this year.  Before they left we had a mini engagement photo shoot.  So in honor of my dear brother and his wife-to-be, I thought I would post a few pics before they exchange vows this week.

Although I am so sad to miss their big day, I will be with them in spirit, through my prayers and the magical internet (but not a live feed).  May God continue to bless you both and your marriage!  Your spouse can be an incredible gift from God, and it is important that you always treat each other as such.  I know you guys will be very happy together, and I love you both very much!

Heather (or as my nephew says “Heada”), welcome to the family!  Andrea and I couldn’t have done better, if we could have picked someone for Brock.  :)

Scene Stealer

On Sunday, Justin and Kristin Schaack have the premiere of their latest short film “The Butler Did It” at the Project 21 Film Festival.  In honor of their premiere, I’m posting some of the still photography I have done for them on another one of their movie sets, “Spices Will Fly”.

Justin and Kristin are a married couple that own Above the Line Entertainment where they write, direct, and produce their own short films and commercials.  They asked me to do some still photography while they are on set, so they can focus on the production.  It’s so fun to watch the whole film process that I always enjoy being their Still Photographer.

You can check out Justin and Kristin’s blog at: http://abovethelineent.wordpress.com/ (Please take note of the header picture of them on their home page…that’s one of my shots from The Student Driver set.)

Once “The Butler Did It” debuts, I will add some other production shots from that film.  I don’t want to give anything away beforehand, but you can get a sneak peak of my shots on Justin and Kristin’s website. That was an awesome shoot and I can’t wait to add some of my favorite pics.

Not only do I get to experience the behind the scenes of a film production, but I also am listed on IMDB!  How cool is that?!?!  Click here for IMDB link
